Photo: Vlad Vlas
Hello everybody! Im ready to post a new interview! She won the Moldovan national final and she is ready to show us her wild soul in Copenhagen. Here are the answers of CRISTINA SCARLAT:

Name: CRISTINA SCARLAT
Birthday: 04.03.1981
Height: 165 cm
Favorite color: Pastel nude colours, such as the colour of face powder.
What’s your strangest talent? I can put my make-up on while driving through countryside roads, haha.
Do you have any nicknames? My niece calls me "Auntie", she's part of my Eurovision team, so all my team started calling me "Auntie", too.
What is the strangest thing you have in your room? A bottle of cognac shaped as an elegant ladies' shoe.
What are you really good at? Sleeping...and Singing? :)
What are you really bad at? Replying to written-form interviews haha, I really enjoy communicating directly while enjoying a cup of coffee. Let's go grab a coffee together and then finish this interview :)
Childhood idol: Cinderella
Childhood memory: the countryside, the tasty pies made by my grandmother, swimming in the river, ah...beautiful times!
Favorite movie: Honestly, I watch whatever my children watch, so now my preferences are usually dictated by them, haha.
Favorite TV series: No time to keep up with whole TV series.
Tell me something no one knows about you: I worked full-time as a vocal coach till the last day of my 2nd pregnancy. My daughter, Sofia, was born with a perfect music background :)
Tell me a super power you wish you had: I'd love to fly, at least for a few minutes. I would include that in my Eurovision performance, flying above the audience :)
What is your guilty pleasure? Sweets.
Name a song that never fails to make you happy: Jon Bon Jovi - It's my life
When did you start singing? I was born singing, you know that "aaaaa" song every newborn sings? :) Well, my interpretation sounded very good :)) Professionally speaking, I stepped on a big stage at the age of 16.
Can you teach me some interesting words in Romanian? Suflet Sălbatic, that means "Wild Soul".
Hello Cristina! Congratulations on winning the National selection! How are you?
Thank you, dear! Working hard!

How would you describe yourself as an artist?
I am very truthful to my music, I like what I sing and I like the people I work with, I grew from an insecure teenage singer to a very confident female performer and I am thankful for such challenges as Eurovision, they keep my career full of adventures.
You won the national selection and you are going to represent Moldova in Eurovision 2014, how did it all begin?
It began with a phonecall from my composer, Ivan Akulov, who asked me: "So, what's up? Are you ready for a new Eurovision song?"

Your song is called "Wild soul" and its written by Ivan Akulov & Lidia Scarlat. How was it to work with them?
We've been working together for many years. We all resonate with each other perfectly, I feel blessed to have them near me.
What did you feel the 1st time you heard it?
I felt like "oh dear, this will be a complicated one". Then I started singing it and loved how much inner power it has.

What can you tell me about the official video of Wild soul?
It was made with a very young team of filmmakers, BR Films. I love working with youngsters because they're always fun and have crazy enthusiasm and fill me up with energy. The music video is a metaphor for the power of each person's soul to rise above expectations. People are passers by through the big phenomenon of TIME, and we have to live this time we have fully and have no mercy for wasted hours.

Now lets talk about the Eurovision performance, what can we expect to see on stage?
It will not be what you saw in the Moldovan finals. We're shaping the concept around the feedback we received. So far, I can only tell you that you shouldn't miss watching my performance! :)

Tell me about the dress you wore in the national selection, are we getting a new version of it for Eurovision or something diferent?
The dress received loads of positive feedback, so we're keeping the concept of it. Some elements will change, though. To better :)
Have you heard any of the Eurovision 2014 songs? Any favorite?
I like Conchita's song, I think it will be a touching performance. I also like Romania's beautiful duet Paula & Ovi, they always bring a very magical vibe. But these are only first impressions. Eurovision is always full of surprises.

What do you like about Eurovision?
It is a crazy and amazing world full of talented people! What can be better?

Tell me the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word:
Moon: obviously, Aliona!
Denmark: yaaaaaaaaaaay!
Stage: soul
Selfie: my brother, Mihai, all his pictures are selfies
Clones: Paula and Ovi and their cloned projections in the national finals.
Moldova: traditions, home.
Piano: Ivan Akulov, my composer, playing a new song.
Dreams: Eurovision!
What are your plans for 2014?
A new music video in summer, probably in a very unexpected style. Keep an eye on my facebook page and you will be updated: https://www.facebook.com/cristinascarlatmusic

Name: Aram Sargsyan
Birthday: 5 April 1984
Hello Aram! Welcome to the Eurovision world! How are you?
I’m fine, thanks! :)
How would you describe yourself as an artist?
I’m an artist whose passion is music, who has a good sense of humor and loves to communicate with new people.
Photo: Public Television of Armenia

You were selected internally to represent Armenia in Eurovision, how did it all begin?
During New Year’s show Armenian Public Television announced my candidacy. I was very excited that I was chosen. This was the best New Year’s present for me! I couldn’t imagine what an amazing and dynamic work is expecting me.

"Not Alone" is the title of your song and its written by you and Garik Papoyan. How was it to work with him?
I’ve known Garik for a long time and we have cooperated with him before. I’m feeling lucky that I am surrounded with so many talented people. Garik is very creative, has a good sense of humor and is very professional. He puts all his efforts to ensure best results. It is easy to work with him and I fully enjoyed the working process.

What’s the story behind the song?
I composed the melody for the song and Garik wrote the lyrics; instrumental arrangement was done by Lilit Navasardyan. I always sing songs that mean something special to me. This song expresses my feelings and thoughts. The song has unusual structure and is more like a movie. While performing it I will try to deliver all emotions to my audience, making them feel that they are not alone in their feelings and thoughts.

How do you feel with the reaction of the public with your song?
I am very happy that good music is appreciated by the audience. Also, I’m very touched by so many supportive and positive messages I get. The warm feedback inspires me for my further work and proves that hard work is always appreciated.
What can you tell me about the official video of "Not Alone"?
We went through very creative process of developing the scenario with the video clip director Grigor Gasparyan. Video clip and the song became two parts of one whole music piece. Video reflects what I’m singing in my song. It illustrates the hard times in relations and also the courage of people to fight for their love.

Did you start working on the Eurovision performance? What can we expect to see on stage?
Currently we are in the working process with our team. The only thing you can expect from me on the stage is that I will be singing “Not Alone” :) My audience know me as a person who like to make surprises, so give me a chance to make a surprise for the Eurovision fans also ;)

What do you like about Eurovision?
The idea of Eurovision is to connect different cultures and people. Song contest calls everyone to #JoinUs and that speaks with my song message which tells the audience that they are #NotAlone. Music unites and warms up people’s heart.

What are your plans for 2014?
I plan to get top scores in Eurovision Song Contest in Denmark ;) Also I am planning to continue working on the recording of my first solo album.
Is there anything you want to say to close the interview?
I want to thank my fans for the attention and energy they give me. It encourages me to work even harder. Fans of “Not alone” you are not alone in your musical preferences. See you on my concerts during my promo tour all over the Europe!
