Melodi Grand Prix 2013: Semifinal 1

The 1st semifinal of MGP was today and im not impressed with the results. Now im going to make some comments about each performance:

1.Vidar Busk - Paid My Way

This performance was good but not because of him, he looked like he didnt want to be there and his vocals were bad, yeah i really dont like his voice.

2.Carina Dahl - Sleepwalking

I like this song a lot (It was my favorite from this semifinal) but i knew she was going to be weak, there were a lot of pre recorded vocals on the performance but i liked it, it was a good visual performance and it was much better than Guns & boys. 

3.Tom Hugo - Det er du

I like him and i love the whistle part of the song, i think it was good perfornance but the song is kinda forgettable

4.Gromth feat. Emil Solli-Tangen - Alone

Great performance, Emils vocals were perfect and the metal part wasnt bad but the biggest problem on this is that there is no tune on the song, so even if they did a good job, the song sucks.

5.Julie Bergan - Give A Little Something Back

She is a nice singer and i kinda like the song but that performance was a mess, i didnt like it at all, also that dress looked horrible and it didnt suit the song.  

6.Mimi Blix - Catch Me

I think Mimi did a nice job but its wasnt good enough. There was a lack of energy on her that didnt help the song but at least her vocals were ok and she looked pretty.

7.Datarock - Underground

I like the song and it was a cool performance but not a winner for me.

It wasnt a bad semifinal but there wasnt anything wow in it. I hope we can get something good in the next semifinals cause i cant see any of this 7 songs doing well in Eurovision.

I havent listen to all the songs but i think this is a good line up, now lets hope to get good performances and a good result from the Norwegian public.

Melodi Grand Prix 2011 - Semifinal 1

The MGP 2011 started in Ørland, amazing stage, fantastic artists and good songs, this is what i think about each song and performances.

1.Carina Dahl - Guns & boys

Before the performance i had some doubts about her vocal ability, but when the music started and i watched her look i was like "im going to love this" and i do love it, she did her best, her vocals were good, the stage presence was also very good and that song is amazing, i love the lyrics, maybe the only little thing i notice was she was a bit nervous but the performance was hot, a round of applause for her and the camera work because it was FABULOUS, she deserved at least to go to Sistesjansen.

2.Use Me - Daisy

This was imo one of the best songs from this semifinal, the lyrics are fantastic and i love the 1st chorus, their performance was good but i think they need more energy next time, i guess they were nervous so lets hope they make it better next time.

3.Helene Bøksle - Vardlokk

She was the big favorite of this semifinal, when i listened the 30seconds of the song i liked very much but with the whole song it was kinda disappointed cause i thought it was going to be great and it was just good, with this im not saying that the song its bad, the song is a good song but not a winner, the idea of her performance is nice but i thing they can improve it, i dont know but i didnt feel the magic of the song, honestly i didnt like how the performance was, but she is a great singer and i hope she make it much better next time on the final.

4.Sie Gubba - Alt du vil ha

This was kinda nice, thats all i can say, they get in 3rd place, to me thats too much, but its not bad.



5.Gatas Parlament - Jobbe litt mindre, og tjene litt mer

Sorry but to me this was very bad, even if i think the song is not bad i didnt like it at all, so thanks to the public that didnt vote for this horrible performance.

6.Sichelle - Trenger mer

I like this song, but unfortunately the performance wasnt good, her stage presence was very weak and she looked very bad on that dress, her vocals were so so, more bad than good and imo it was a very boring performance, i didnt like it.

 

7.Åste & Rikke - Not that easy (Ah-Åh Ah-Åh)

When i listened the song i liked it but i wasnt sure if it was the right one for eurovision, but with the performance i can say that i love it, i cant get the "Ah åh ah åh dadadada.." out of my mind, they are great singers and their vocals were fantastic, they made a great team on stage and it looked really good, it wasnt one singer with another singer, it was a great duet, their stage presence was fantastic and without a doubt this was the best of this semifinal, i really enjoyed their performance and im sure they enjoyed too.

Melodi Grand Prix 2011 - Ørland & 2 from Florø

NRK presented today the 7 artists that will compete in the 1st semifinal and 2 from the 2nd semifinal, it seems that today was a press conference day.

Im very excited with the mgp even if i dont like that political rap group, i like the different styles on the competion and im sure i will love a lot of songs next year.
